Our story
The Himelli story
Bee medicine, without the sting.
For over 150 years, beekeepers have said the same thing: their stings eased their aching joints.
We made a way to get that bee venom without a single sting.
It started as a beekeeper's secret.
Beekeepers get stung a lot. Over the years, many of them noticed something odd. Their sore joints hurt less.
Doctors started to look into it.
1858, France. Dr. Desjardin tries bee stings on patients with rheumatism.
1888, Austria. Dr. Philipp Terč writes his report on bee stings and rheumatism.
1900s, Vermont. Beekeeper Charles Mraz helps people with sore joints, one sting at a time.
2003, Korea. Korea approves its first bee venom therapy.
Today. 18 Korean medicine guides for doctors recommend bee venom for muscle, bone and nerve pain.
In one study of 120 people with rheumatoid arthritis, bee venom did as well as two arthritis drugs. 83% got better on bee venom. 80% got better on the drugs. (PubMed 29888580. That study used needles. Himelli uses no needles.)
So why haven't you heard of it? Nobody can patent a bee. No patent means no giant drug trials, no TV ads and no sales reps. So it stayed the beekeeper's secret.
The old way was hard.
Real bee therapy means live bees. You hold a bee with tweezers and press it to your skin until it stings you.
People who stick with it often take dozens of stings a week, for months. Every sting hurts. Every sting swells.
Who has time for that? Most people with sore joints never even try it.
So we made the modern version.
We asked a simple question. What if you could get the bee venom, without the bee?
Himelli is a patch. You press it on and wear it for 3 to 4 hours. No needle. No sting.
The venom soaks in through your skin, a little at a time. It's the same idea as the nicotine and hormone patches doctors use: the patch holds it against your skin for hours, so it has time to soak in. From there it spreads through your body, with the most right where you put it.
A sting gives you a big dose all at once. That's why it hurts and swells. A patch gives you a small, steady dose instead.
We added four plants people have used for sore joints for hundreds of years:
- Ginger root to warm the area.
- Safflower to help fresh blood flow in.
- Mugwort, the herb healers have burned over sore joints for centuries.
- Calendula to keep your skin calm.
Our name was inspired by the Himalayas, home of the giant honeybee, the biggest honeybee on earth. Old medicine, made easy for today.
Why we make it in small batches.
Himelli is made with real bee venom from real honeybees. Bee venom is collected a tiny bit at a time, so there's only so much of it.
That's why we make Himelli in small batches. When a batch sells out, the next one takes about 4 to 8 weeks.
Hive Members come first. Hive Members get a box of 30 patches every month at a locked price, and can pause, skip or cancel anytime. Their boxes are set aside from every batch before we sell a single one-time box. So if a batch sells out, members still get theirs.
What people ask us.
Does it sting?
No. There's no stinger. Most people feel nothing on the skin. Some feel a little warmth.
How do I use it?
One patch a day, on the spot that hurts most. Wear it 3 to 4 hours, then peel it off. A box has 30 patches.
How soon will I notice it?
Some people feel calmer joints in the first week or two. Give it the full 90 days.
Can I use it with my other pills?
Himelli goes on your skin, so it's made to sit alongside them. If you take blood thinners, check with your doctor first.
Does it work?
Bee venom has been studied for sore joints for years, with real people, not just in a lab. Everyone is different, so we give you 90 days to find out for yourself.
What if I'm allergic to bee stings?
Then don't use Himelli. Not sure? Wear one patch on your inner arm for an hour first. If you take blood thinners, are pregnant or have a medical condition, ask your doctor first.
Try it for 90 days.
Hive Members pay $45 a month for 30 patches, with free shipping. Or try one box for $75.
Not happy within 90 days? Email us for a full refund. You don't need to send anything back.
